Why, Four Beers in One Meal!? Do I Look Like I Want Alcohol Poisoning?!

Filed Under: Food and Drink Special Events

My content today is a little food-heavy, but everyone eats. Next Wednesday, January 23rd, Dumbo's Five Front Restaurant and Kelso beer (what is that beer?) will team up to create a special four-course dinner, at which each course is wed to a breathtakingly-thoughtfully selected beer. The menu is a secret, but the accompanying beers are not. They will be: Pilsner, Hop Lager, Nut Brown Lager and Chocolate Lager. I wonder which is the dessert beer? The Hop Lager? The Nut Brown Lager? The Hop Lager? The Nut Brown Lager?

If you want to have a special dinner next Wednesday at 7pm, make a reservation by calling 718-625-5559 or emailing fivefront@aol.com. The beer/food dinner costs $65. And although they're not revealing what the special beer-befriended menu is going to be, their regular menu includes such gems as

Sweet Potato Duck-Confit Hash with braised red cabbage, 10.

and

Poached Salmon with Heirloom Apple Chutney and herb spaetzle and braised napa cabbage, 17.
It's in a lovely spot under the Brooklyn Bridge. Learn about the manifold charms of Brooklyn, one of New York City's five boroughs.

Kelso beer is actually made in Brooklyn, unlike Brooklyn Lager which is now made in Utica, NY(according to their web site and my useless knowledge). Bar Matchless apparently has it, so next time Im there I gotta try it.
